Favorite Sports Picture

Focal Length of Lens:70-200mm
Shutter Speed:1/640
By shooting at this shutter speed Bob Rosato was able to catch the football player in mid air which created this amazing shot.
Aperture Size:f/2.8
By shooting with this size aperture he got a clear shot of the football player jumping and you don't really focus on the backround because it is blurry. The depth of field isn't very deep.

Avoiding Mergers

This picture is an example of Avoiding Mergers because the main man in the middle of the picture looks like he has a hand going into his hat becuase the man behind him is saluting as well.

Rule of Thirds

This picture is an example of the Rule of Thirds becuase all the buildings are on the 3rd line.

Balance

This picture is an example of balance. The reason the hands are balanced is becuase the shape of the hands create a right triangle which is a geometric shape.

Lines

This picture is an example of lines becuase the lines on the American Flag are going to the subject, or the bagpipe player's head.

Framing

This picture is an example of framing becuase the man is between the two columns of boxes. The boxes create a frame next to the man.

Simplicity

This image is a simple image. The man with his dog is the main thing to look at and even though there are different things in the backround they are blurred so you still focus on the man and his dog.

After Printing

The first thing that we did is that we cleaned our negatives with photoflo. We then put our negatives into the enlarger and made sure that everything was centered and in focus. We focused the picture by turning the dial on the side of the enlarger and we looked into the magnifing lens to make sure it was really in focus. We then set the time for 4 seconds so we could experiment which time was the best for the picture, that is when the test strip came in. We exposed a qaurter of the test strip for 4 secs., 5 secs., and for 6 secs. After we did that, we saw which exposure was the best time amount and then we exposed the whole paper for the time necessary. We developed the picture by putting the paper into the developer for 1 min., into the stop bath for 15 secs., and then the fixer for 2 mins. We then let the photo dry over night.
